Vision Issues in the Classroom Resolved, Now the Sky’s the Limit

When children experience vision issues they may not always know that they are seeing the world differently than their peers. This becomes problematic when, according to a recent survey, 84% of parents in the U.S. agree that regular eye exams help kids do their best in school but nearly half of parents wait until their child complains of vision issues before scheduling an eye exam.Lucky for Ally, an attentive teacher noticed her behavior in class might correlate to not being able to see well. This prompted her parents to take her to visit the eye doctor for the first time. Similarly, her older sister was also showing signs of vision issues in the classroom.

One in four children has an undiagnosed vision problem that can interfere with learning. The good news is that many common vision problems can be corrected, especially when caught in early childhood through regular eye exams.

And, just like Ally and Maddy, when children can see well, the sky really is the limit.
